Aleix Espargaro will be hoping to become the first rider to win back-to-back British
MotoGP titles since Jorge Lorenzo won the event in 2012 and 2013.

The Aprilia Racing rider withdrew from the most recent race on the 2024 calender which was the German MotoGP due to an injury he had picked up at the Dutch TT.
Espargaro fractured the metacarpal in his right little finger after crashing on the last lap of the Tissot Sprint at the Dutch TT, but he will compete at the British MotoGP.
MotoGP title ambitions
The former Suzuki rider is placed ninth in the MotoGP Riders' standings having accumulated 82 points with 11 races left in the current campaign.
Espargaro is 10 points behind eighth-placed Fabio Di Giannantonio of Ducati and 140 points behind leader Francesco Bagnaia of Ducati.
Why Espargaro could win the 2024 British MotoGP
The 34-year-old will be returning to the Silverstone Circuit where he was crowned champion of the 2023 British MotoGP after an eye-catching display.
Espargaro tends to bring his A game to the British MotoGP as he finished third at the 2021 event and he is now targeting his second victory in England.
What did he say?
"Tried, but the broken hand hurts like hell," Espargaro wrote on Instagram at the 2024 German MotoGP.
"So impossible to run here in Germany! Sorry Aprilia and Silverstone at the top."
